It is amazing that March has already come to an end! The month pretty much flew by for us. We enjoyed a week long visit from Ben's sister, Becky, last week. She just left this morning and we were very sad to say goodbye! It was a very fun week. We did a lot of touristy things but also left plenty of time for sitting around the house in our comfy clothes (pjs, fleece pants, sweatshirts, etc.), playing board games (Ben had some killer wins in settlers and metro, I had a few settlers wins as well, and Becky had a killer skunking of Ben in cribbage), we worked on our yo-yo skills, played beach volleyball, BBQed Hong Kong style, and tried out the Japenese soaking tubs in our apartment complex (which were wonderful and we can't believe we haven't taken adventage of them yet!). The pictures from all of our fun adventures are posted on our new web album at picasa, which I just set up today, but I think will be a wonderful way to post photos for everyone to see. The link is just on the top right side column of this page.
Otherwise, our March was fairly uneventful. We've just been settling into a more normal life routine. I think that's why I didn't get any posts up. Life is starting to just feel normal again and not like such a big adventure all the time. And we are starting to get more settled in culturally and not reacting as much to the differences that at first we noticed daily. I think maybe our biggest challenge is still the smog. It takes much of the beauty out of even the nicest days and adds more gloom to the cloudy ones. We are planning a trip to Indonesia at the end of April and the one criteria for location was that it had to be somewhere without smog. So, we are going to settle ourselves onto a tiny island for a week and enjoy the blue sky! We can't wait! It will be Ben's first real vacation since we went to Spain last summer. Unlike me he didn't get a break after we moved. Things just got crazier with settling into a new job, so he is very much in need of a hard earned vacation.
I have a job interview next Thursday, which is both exciting and a little nerve wrecking. Luckly I have a few days to focus on preparing this week. I am still not registered to work, but it would be nice to have a job lined up when the paperwork does come through. It is for a healthcare chain that runs out-patient doctors and PT clinics. It has quite a few locations in Hong Kong and 2 are within a 30 min commute, which is nice. That's about all I know at this point, but I will know more soon.
Well, I guess that is about it for now. Be sure to check out the photo link if you haven't already!
