Fall Catch Up

It's hard to believe that my last post wast almost 2 months ago! I guess it has been a busy fall for us. I have been working regularly since August and my free time is getting to be less and less. We have had a good couple months and here are some highlights:
The city was all decorated in mid-September for the Autumn Moon Festival. We enjoyed walking around and viewing all the lighted lanterns.

We climbed Lantau Peak, the highest on our island, with our friends Julian and Casey. It was both a cloudy and smoggy day...so not much of a view. We had a great time though! Look back to photos from last December or January from the first time we climbed this mountain for a picture of the view. On a more clear day.

I had the pleasure of taking a trip home in early October. Here is a view of a pumpkin patch in Oregon. I spent half my week in Oregon and then flew to Colorado to celebrate my cousin, Mandy's, wedding. I enjoyed perfect fall weather in both places (although the last 2 days in Colorado were pretty chilly!) and I got to visit many family and friends. It was a blessing to be part of Mandy's wedding and to get to spend time with my Colorado family, which I have not seen in a while! It was a great trip.

While I was in the states one of Ben's coworkers from Malaysia came to visit and he got to show her around some of the tourist sites of Hong Kong. Here the are on the cable car to the Big Buddha.

We have a lot more fun planned for the upcoming months and we will try to keep you informed as we go along. Our friend, Beth, flies in tonight and sets of a string of visitors. We will leave Saturday and spend 2 weeks traveling with Beth in China. Then, my parents and Kyle will come to visit for Thanksgiving and we will have the joy of hosting them. Shortly after they leave our friend Nina will arrive and then we have more visitors planned for Christmas (which we plan to spend in Beijing/the Great Wall) and Chinese New Year in Jan. It will be a funn fall/winter for us! We are excited to get to share some of our experiences here with our loved ones from home!
