Thailand here we come!

Well we got our house packed up and said our final goodbye to Hong Kong on Wednesday. We set of for our three month adventure with only what we can carry on our backs...we have about 5 t-shirts each, a couple pairs of pants/shorts, a swimsuit, and a gallon size bag of trail mix! We took a late night flight to Bangkok, slept 5 hours and jumped on an early morning plane to Ko Samui. This is a small island off the east coast of the peninsula part of Thailand. Even the airport here is beautiful! On arrival we were surrounded by green rolling mountains, blue sky, sunshine, and a light breeze. The airport was open air, with a thatched roof and landscaped with orchids and water features. Immediately we started to ease into relaxatioin mode. Ben's mom and step-father met us here and we have been enjoying good food, walks on the beach, laying by the pool and fabulous weather. It is truly a relaxing and beautiful place, but definately tourist oriented. :) We have plans for snorkeling tomorrow and a an elephant ride on Sunday. We're trying to pack in as much "Thailand" as we can for Mom and Hector before they leave while still spending lots of time just relaxing!

I wish we could have made it over there while you were living there. You've done and seen so many cool things in your time away from here...so jealous! I live vicariously through your blog/pictures imagining Im riding an elephant too! ;)

We were just talking this morning that you guys would love where we are now. It's warm, sunny, perfect beach weather. Even the airport feels like a tropical paradise. It's all open air-thatched roof huts. Just amazing! Hopefully we'll figure out how to post pictures one of these days!
